Whispers Under Ground

Whispers Under Ground - Ben Aaronovitch The problem with Whispers is that it's probably the most police-y instalment so far - and consequently feels slow in comparison to the books that have gone before. It's an awful lot of sleuthing before the final act where everything suddenly dashes to a conclusion.

There are still some great scenes - the Nazareth market, the demon trap, the sewers, Oxford Circus tube station - but it feels a bit disjointed and I found less to enjoy. I remembered this one as boring - I think that was unfair, but it's certainly my least favourite to date.
